Jill Huber

Worship Coordinator

Jill began her music career singing to the cows on a dairy farm in Central Michigan...literally! She started piano lessons at eight and played tenor saxophone through college. Jill loves to sing and terrorize her children with a 'stirring' rendition of the Star Spangled Banner especially when they won't get out of bed.
As Worship Coordinator, her main focus is to educate people in 'true worship'  - focusing on God rather than ourselves; giving glory, honor, and praise to Him without expectations.
Jill has a B.A. degree in English Education with a minor in Music.
In her free time she loves to read, play Phase 10 and Ticket to Ride with her kids, sew, hang out with the Quilters, and shop the clearance aisles!

Mike Harper

Youth Director

Mike grew up in Sylvania Wesleyan Church and has worked with youth at SWC for 14 years. He is thankful for the pastors, Sunday school teachers, youth leaders and elders of the church that challenged him to go deeper in his walk and not settle in the shallow waters.  Mike's 'go to verse' is 2 Timothy 1:7 - "For God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind." Mike and his amazing wife, Jennifer, have four kids: three boys - CJ, Braiden and Tyler- and one daughter, Riley. He gives a huge thanks to his family for their support and help in his ministry.

Brian Pierce

Sunday School Superintendent

Brian Pierce is a Sunday School Superintendent for Sylvania Weslean Church. His tenture has spanned over a time of 20 plus years. He is also serving as vice-chairman on the church board. Through the years he has worked feverishly to keep up task of having teaching materials that are relevant to our times yet interesting enough to keep a captive audiance by going to Christian bookstores and websites. When he's not busy finding new class materials, he spends his time on woodworking, construction, hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. As if that was not enough, he also sings, dances, and cooks lavish dinners every night.
...Well, maybe not the singing and dancing parts, but he DOES make some pretty mean barbecue ribs.
